Friday morning at 11:32 am, Clintwood Fire Dept. was dispatched to a powerpole fire located on the campus of Clintwood Elementary School,  Engine 1 arrived on scene to find a powerpole nearly burnt in two and a transformer fire.  Appalachian Power Co. removed power from the area and fire crews quickly extinguished the fire.  Power was disrupted in downtown for approximately two hours.  Engine 1 cleared the scene and returned to quarters at 12:54 pm.
